East Zorra-Tavistock council is the first in Oxford County to resume in person council meetings.
EAST ZORRA-TAVISTOCK - The seven person Council of East Zorra-Tavistock has decided to meet in person this week instead of doing their regular meeting electronically.
The meeting will be held in the Innerkip Community Centre beginning at 9:00 am today, Wednesday June 3rd. Township Clerk Will Jacques is asking anyone who will be attending the meeting to please let the township know so they can prepare for social distancing measures. Currently the Province has limited social gathers to 5 people, however exceptions can be made for municipal council meetings. No other council in Oxford has held formal discussions about going back to in person meetings.
However Zorra Township is also having their council meeting today. Mayor Marcus Ryan says he anticipates their will be a motion asking for council to meet in person in a couple of weeks. We will provide you with more information on that when it becomes available.
