A local woman with a long volunteer history will be taking the reins for United Way Oxford's 2017 Community Campaign
OXFORD COUNTY - A Woodstock resident is the new Campaign Chair for United Way Oxford's 2017 Community Campaign.
Executive Director Kelly Gilson explains why Leslie Ferrell was selected for the volunteer position.
"She is really a volunteer extraordinaire in the community. She's very passionate about Oxford County and making a difference and has lots of experience and so we're thrilled to be able to learn from her and to be able to work with her."
Gilson adds Ferrell is no stranger to United Way Oxford.
"Leslie actually joined our board (Board of Directors) last year and has really become very involved, has been a long standing supporter, but has become very involved over the last few years. This opportunity to chair the campaign just really will sort of launch her understanding and enthusiasm for United Way as well as our opportunities because she is truly a passionate Oxford County volunteer and a real force to be reckoned with. We're so excited to have her."
Ferrell has also sat on the Community Impact Council.
As Campaign Chair Farrell will lead the charge into the 2017 Community Campaign, which will launch this fall.
