WATERFORD - A motorcyclist has died after a crash just east of Waterford.
Police say a motorcycle collided with an SUV on Thompson Road East at around 6:50 a.m. today. The driver of the motorcycle died at the scene, while the driver of the SUV was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The Norfolk OPP posted about the crash on the OPP West Region social media pages at 7:40 a.m., to inform the public that Thompson Road East between Duncombe Road and Cockshutt Road is closed for the investigation.
No further details have been released at this time.
In a video posted on the OPP West Region X page. Constable Andrew Gamble had this reminder for everyone.
"To anyone travelling the roadways in Norfolk County today, it's an extremely busy day because there are tens of thousands of motorists heading towards Port Dover for Friday the 13th. So please be extra vigilant and please be extra cautious."
