Impaired driver causes head-on collision in Norfolk County, kiling one and seriously injuring another.
NORFOLK COUNTY -- A Tillsonburg man is facing impaired charges following a fatal crash in Norfolk County Saturday evening.
OPP say around 7:40 pm, a Pontiac Van and Toyota pick-up collided head-on on Highway 19.
The driver of the mini-van, 54 year-old Maria Reddecopp of Bayham was pronounced deceased at the scene and an 18 year-old passenger in the van was taken to London suffering serious, non-life threatening injuries.
26 year-old Ryan Cole Daniels of Tillsonburg, who was driving the truck, suffered minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital to be treated.
A police investigation revealed that Daniels was impaired at the time of the crash and is now facing charges of impaired driving causing death, impaired driving causing bodily harm and driving over the legal limit.
Daniels will appear in Provincial Court, Simcoe at a later date to answer to these charges.
