Icy highway conditions have caused a number of collisions and the closure of the 401 this morning. OPP were forced to close the eastbound lanes from Highway 2 through to Cedar Creek Road in Ayr after a number of different accidents near the Drumbo cut off this morning. Police and fire were on the scene of a vehicle roll over and two cars in the ditch around 3:40 this morning when a transport travelling through lost control and went into the ditch. As crews were dealing with that incident, another truck lost control and slammed into a fire truck. Police say diesel was spilled onto the highway and the Ministry of Environment has been contacted. There were several injuries as a result of the separate collisions and all parties were transported to Woodstock hospital. OPP are mobilizing this hour (10AM), to re-open the Eastbound lanes of the 401.
