A 50 year old volunteer firefighter is facing serious charges involving alleged fraudulent activity. Oxford OPP say Harold Couwenburg faces charges of breach of trust by a Public Officer, theft over $5,000 and uttering a forged document. Police say the alleged fraud is said to have taken place over several years involving funds from the Burgessville Firefighters Association. Police used a search warrant at Couwenberg's home January 23rd. He is to appear in a Woodstock court February 21st to answer to the charges.
