The temporary ban on the sale and use of fireworks has been lifted for the Canada Day Holiday. Sale of fireworks will be allowed to start on June 24th.
The Woodstock Fire Department is asking anyone wishing to use fireworks please use this link to familiarize yourself with the bylaw and remember the only day you can do so is July 1st .
Here's a list of fireworks safety tips:
- Only a responsible adult aware of the hazards and safety precautions should be lighting the fireworks.
- Read and follow the instructions on the packaging.
- Keep a bucket of water or a hose nearby just in case.
- Steer clear of combustibles including buildings, trees and dry grass.
- Only light fireworks at a safe distance from onlookers upwind.
