Golfers can now sign up to participate in the 8th annual Fore for Shan Golf Tournament at Woodstock Meadows on Saturday August 12th.
WOODSTOCK - Registration is now open for the 8th annual For fore Shan Golf Tournament!
It costs $55 for an individual to participate in the tournament on Saturday August 12th. Groups of four can also sign up for $200.
President Lorna Larsen says all of the proceeds will benefit the Team Shan, which was formed in memory of her daughter Shanna Larsen.
"Shan lost her life to breast cancer at the age of 24 and she was a Woodstock resident. We've been hosting the campaign to support the national charity Team Shan Breast Cancer Awareness for Young Women that is situated here locally. We've been raising awareness for young women since 2007; so we're celebrating our 10th year as a national charity."
Larsen adds Team Shan will put the funds they raise at Woodstock Meadows towards their breast cancer education and awareness activities.
"We use media and marketing support. You may have seen Team Shan billboards in the area or also some of our bus ads and bus shelter displays as well."
The money will also benefit the annual fall awareness campaign Team Shan holds during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Those interested in participating in the tournament can call the Event Coordinator Rob Larsen at 226-504-6220 or they can reach out to Team Shan through their website or email teamshan@gmail.com
The registration cut-off date is August 5th.
