Efforts to put a skate park in Plattsville have just taken a large step forward with a big donation.
PLATTSVILLE - The Plattsville Skate Park Project has received a huge boost thanks to a local business.
The Frank Cowan Company has donated $5,000 through the Home Town Program.
Marketing Manager with the company Caryn McLean says they wanted to encourage growth in their own backyard.
"Being a local hometown, really hometown for us being housed in Princeton Ontario, it's really important for us to give back to our hometown. So this came to us as a real grass roots initiative for a local community."
The company was first approached about the project by a municipal representative.
The Home Town Program is a collaboration of Frank Cowan Company business partners and The Cowan Foundation. More funding applications are currently under review.
