The Woodstock Women’s Fastball Association is hosting a fundraising tournament in order to raise enough money to send three players to the World Masters in New Zealand.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Women's Fastball Association is looking for some great slo-pitch teams to take part in a fundraising tournament.
Men's, women's and co-ed teams are all welcome to participate in the two day tournament on October 15th and 16th.
Incoming President Elizabeth Borbely says the entrance fee is $250 which will support three players representing the Friendly City in an international tournament.
"All the money is going to help three members for their travel expenses, uniforms, and registration costs. And they're representing Woodstock at the 2017 World Masters in New Zealand."
Current president Jackie Davison says they have teams registered from Stratford, Brantford, and Mississauga.
"Guaranteed minimum of three games. We really are promoting to have a lot of fun that weekend and play some great ball, meet people from all over the community and different centres, and hopefully this becomes an annual event."
To register for the tournament at Southside Park, contact Davison at jackidavison@yahoo.ca or 519-589-1328.
