A new fund aims to help improve the quality of life in Oxford through economic, social, and environmental projects.
OXFORD COUNTY - Community Futures Oxford has announced a new fund which will benefit the Future Oxford Sustainability Plan. The organization formerly known was the Oxford Small Business Support Centre introduced the Future Oxford Legacy Fund on Thursday.
General Manager Allan Simm says organizations and small businesses will be able to take advantage of the fund.
"It's essentially there to help organizations and projects that improve the quality of life for Oxford and also take into consideration the economic, social, and environmental interests."
The fund is accessible in two different ways: organizations can apply for a grant through Community Development Support or they can apply for a loan of up to $100,000 through Access to Capital. Flexible repayment terms can be negotiated for those who take advantage of Access to Capital.
Simm tells Heart FM about the priority areas the fund will be focusing on.
"These priority sectors with the Future Oxford Legacy Fund include youth entrepreneurship and employment, arts, culture, tourism, high tech manufacturing, green technology and locally grown and processed agricultural products."
The Future Oxford Legacy Fund will also help promote the goals of the Future Oxford Sustainability Plan.
