WOODSTOCK - There will be two blood donor clinics at Goff Hall in Woodstock over the next couple of weeks.
People can stop by to donate blood on December 31st between 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. or they can donate on January 5th between 1 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Marisa Gatfield, Territory Manager with Canadian Blood Services tells Heart FM why it's important to give blood at this time of the year.
"With the holidays there's an increased need of course while people are enjoying family festivities and travelling. We're looking forward to people within the Woodstock area to come out and give the gift of life."
Gatfield adds there is a greater need for new donors.
"Starting in December the donation interval for women will increase to 12 weeks and beginning in the month of March men will need a higher hemoglobin level to be eligible to donate."
You can find eligibility information on the Canadian Blood Service's website. You can also call 1-888-TO-DONATE (2366283).
