The annual Hits for Hospice expanded this year due to overwhelming popularity.
WOODSTOCK - Registration is completely full for this year's Hits for Hospice Tournament.
The 4th annual co-ed mushball tournament has grown in popularity over the years, raising just over $24,000 for the Sakura House in the process.
Co-Chair Sue Ann Marshall says the tournament next Saturday will feature more teams than usual.
"We were only accepting 12 teams - we had a lot of interest this year so we did expand it to 14 and we are full. We'll see how this year goes with the 14 teams and maybe decide next year whether we want to expand it or keep it just at the one day fun that it is."
Cash prizes will be handed out to the top two teams.
Marshall says the tournament features a variety of adult players.
"There's players of all calibres right from somebody just out for a good day to people who play competitive baseball. But it is just for fun and everyone seems to have an enjoyable time."
The fundraiser will also feature a silent auction, BBQ, beer tent, and the Moving Scoop Ice Cream Truck.
The first pitch will be thrown at 9 a.m. in Cowan Fields and the finals should begin at around 5 p.m.
