DELHI - A home invasion investigation is underway in Delhi.
Norfolk County OPP say two people have been charged and one suspect remains on the loose. Officers, along with Norfolk County Paramedic Services responded to a residence on Ann Street yesterday just after 11:30 a.m. When the suspects entered the residence they got involved in an interaction with several people, and the suspects revealed they had weapons, including at least one edged weapon, and proceeded to physically assault two people.
All three suspects fled the scene in a white sedan, and the victims had to be taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The vehicle was found by police on West Street in Simcoe, where the driver was taken into custody. As a result, a 34-year-old from Norfolk County has been charged with Break, enter dwelling house - commit indicatable offence, Assault with a weapon, and Assault causing bodily harm.
The second suspect was located early this morning just after 2 a.m. Officers located him at an address on Grove Street in Simcoe. As a result, a 25-year-old from Brantford, has been charged with Break, enter dwelling house - commit indicatable offence, Assault with a weapon, Assault causing bodily harm, Disguise with intent, Fail to comply with Probation Order. and Failure to comply with Release Order - other than to attend court.
The accused individuals remained in custody and appeared for a bail hearing in a Simcoe Courtroom today.
The search for the third suspect, described as a male wearing black clothing and a face covering, is ongoing.
