A 65 year old man has been airlifted to hospital in serious condition after a hunting accident near Paris.
PARIS - A 65 year old man suffered serious injuries after being shot in the chest while out on the hunt near Paris.
Brant OPP and other emergency responders were called out to a field near East River Road around 8:30 yesterday morning.
Police say a group of six hunters had been using shotguns to hunt deer in the area, when a member of their party was struck by a bullet. The man from Timmins was air lifted to hospital.
A 69 year old man from Brant County has been charged with Careless Use of a Firearm and will appear in court to answer to the charges.
The OPP and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry are reminding all hunters to review safety rules before they go out for the hunt.
