The latest meeting for Ingersoll Council had a presentation regarding the status of the Multiuse Rec Centre.
INGERSOLL - Ingersoll Town Council learned more about the Multiuse Rec Centre.
A presentation was delivered at their latest meeting by a Project Leader from Colliers. Deputy Mayor, Lindsay Wilson has the details about what Council heard.
"It wasn't really detailed drawings or anything like that. It was more of a status update to let council and the community know what they can kind of expect over the next several months. So, a much more detailed presentation is expected, probably in about December."
Wilson says the most important information is the project is looking like it will stay on budget. She adds the timeline for the project to get going is summer of 2026. Wilson mentions the overall reaction from Council after the presentation.
"Council is very mindful of the amount of effort that staff have had to put into this project to make sure that it can come in on budget."
Wilson says as important as the MURC is, that will be one part of what will be built on the land. She adds a Long-Term Care Facility, Elementary School and more residential units will be built as a way to continue the growth of the community in a positive way.
