The town of Ingersoll hopes that a town in Massachusetts will find enough commonalities to twin with them. Mayor Ted Comiskey says that Mr. Ingersoll's history started in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, "He came from Great Barrington. So when his grandkids came forward to the town, the town was originally called Oxford on the Thames, and talked the fathers in to changing it to Ingersoll in honour. So it's kind of a moment there, that we're trying to develop a twinning but it was already there because our founder was from Great Barrington itself". Comiskey went to Great Barrington to see some of the artifacts that they are going to bring up this summer for the Ingersoll Museum. They include a chest, a tea set, and some books. Comiskey hopes that in talking with representatives from Great Barrington, they can find enough commonalities to twin with them and keep up the correspondence of their heritage.
