All of the proceeds will be going to the Oxford County Animal Rescue.
INGERSOLL - The Victoria Park Community Centre pool is going to the dogs this weekend.
The Town of Ingersoll will be hosting a Pooch Plunge fundraiser this Sunday. It runs from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. that day and admission is by donation to the Oxford County Animal Rescue.
There will be lifeguards on site, but the dog handlers and owners will be responsible for their pets and they will have to remain in the pool area at all times. The chlorine levels in the pool will be lowered to make it dog-friendly, so they won't be allowed to go in the water with them.
Each owner/handler can only be responsible for up to three dogs at a time, and the pool will only be able to hold up to 130 dogs at once.
It will be the owner/handlers responsibility to clean up and dispose of any excrement from their dogs. Their dog will also have to be leashed and removed from the pool area if they become aggressive.
All dogs must be fully vaccinated to participate, so puppies under four months old will not be permitted. Female dogs in heat will also not be allowed.
