The theme for this year is things that fly naturally with the deadline to submit being October 13th
OXFORD COUNTY - Photographers of all ages are being asked to pick up their cameras and take shots from around the county. President of the Ingersoll Nature Club, Sheila Fleming, explains how easy the 2nd annual contest is in order to gather pictures. "We are very fortunate in Oxford County, we have a number of locations where people can get out even if it is in your own backyard. There are lots of things that fly naturally either in town, in the city, or out in the countryside. We just hope that we get a good response from the community."
For the 2nd consecutive year the Nature Club is holding their contest with a chance of having their photos published. Fleming reveals what the theme for this year's contest will be that has been broken down into 3 age categories. "We're generalizing with Oxford County, we had a wide range of photos from insects, birds, landscapes it was quite a wide variety from last year. This years theme is people submit things that fly naturally in Oxford County." Over 30 entries where submitted from the first year and the 2nd is promising to be a big hit.
Fleming commented about how the success from the contest in 2014 has transferred over to this year. "We had such a good response last year and it is a really easy way, and a nice way to bring awareness of the richness and diversity of nature that we enjoy in Oxford County. It is open to professional or amateur photographers and we are just asking that individuals submit no more than 10 photos." Those looking to submit their entries by mail before the deadline of October 13th can do so to Ingersoll District Nature Club Photography Contest, c/o 205 George Street, Ingersoll, Ontario N5C 1Z5.
