INGERSOLL - The Town of Ingersoll is going to have to close down the splash pad at Victoria Park for the rest of season.
In a press release they stated the reason for the shutdown is a mechanical failure. It would take several weeks for the replacement equipment to arrive, which is when the splash would close down normally anyway's.
Staff have been looking into a modification to the system as well, that will reduce operating costs and hopefully lead to less mechanical failures. The modification would render the replacement equipment useless, so staff have opted not to purchase it.
Council will consider options for the splash pad at their next meeting on September 14th.
