Deborah Carew won the top prize while playing Instant Red Hot Cash.
INGERSOLL - An Ingersoll woman has won big off a scratch ticket she bought in her hometown.
The OLG says Deborah Carew won the top prize of $75,000 while playing Instant Red Hot Cash.
She says she bought her ticket at the Foodland on Charles Street West in her hometown.
"I don’t usually buy my tickets at the grocery store, but one day, something came over me."
She checked her ticket at a local drug store on Canada Day, and couldn't believe her eyes at first.
"I scanned it using the ticket checker and saw the prize amount. Then I scanned it some more. I just couldn’t believe it!"
Carew is retired, and she's now planning some home renovations. She would also like to use her winnings to treat herself and maybe rent a cottage with her family.
