The Innerkip and District Lions Club will be hosting a Santa Claus Parade on Saturday December 11th and it's scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m.
INNERKIP - Santa Claus is coming to the Village of Innerkip.
The annual parade is being organized by the Innerkip & District Lions Club and it's scheduled for Saturday December 11th this year. Lions member Scott McKague says they wanted to give the Fire Department a bit of a break.
"We started planning a month ago, so we are little behind the eight ball. The committee that has planned the parade for the last 11 years, were looking to take a step back and enjoy the parade, so they asked the Lions Club and they put a committee together and are going to take on the challenge."
He adds the Fire Department has given them the blueprints on how to run the parade and they won't have any problems getting all the required permits.
They will also have the Lions train cruising through town in the afternoon, collecting food donations and the actual parade will start at 6:00 pm. The Lions Club will also be judging the Christmas lights display contest on the Friday night.
McKague says he hopes to see everyone there.
"I want to invite everyone out that can come, we want to come back strong after a year off with COVID, we want to lift everyone's spirits and get them into the Christmas mood and feeling good, so come on out."
