Oxford MPP and Minister of Agriculture Ernie Hardeman called Heart FM this morning to talk about the province's new booking system for COVID-19 vaccinations.
OXFORD COUNTY - The Ford Government has launched a new portal to make it easier for Ontarians to book their COVID-19 vaccination appointment.
Ernie Hardeman, Oxford's MPP and the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, called Heart FM this morning to talk about it.
The portal is available online and over the phone. Seniors over 80-years-old can use it to book their vaccination appointment right now and those in other age groups will be able to use it once the eligibility criteria expands next month.
Hardeman says it's very user friendly and the framework is actually a copy of other portals that are being used.
Southwestern Public Health region is not yet using the new provincial system. Eligible residents should continue to book by going online to www.covidvaccinelm.ca (24/7) or calling 226-289-3560 from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
During the interview, Hardeman also talked about the current status of vaccine distribution across Ontario. He says the province is doing very well with over 1-million vaccinations, but we need to have a steady supply of vaccines from the federal government is order to ramp things up.
