Tillsonburg is a hot spot for manufacturing jobs.
As the town is set to host a career fair on Thursday, the organizers of the job fair say the town's industries are having trouble finding workers.
Job Developer with the Multi-Service Centre, Rod Billard tells Heart FM from skilled workers, to general labourers, local industry seem to always be looking for help. "In Tillsonburg we're finding that a lot of the positions coming out are in manufacturing. I know that we have companies that are struggling to fill those positions."
Some of them will be at tomorrow's 10th annual Community Services and Career Fair. The event is being held from 10AM-4PM in the Town Centre Mall on Broadway St.
Billard says if manufacturing is not your trade, there are other opportunities up for grabs. "The other sectors such as hospitality, we're getting a number of opening from the local establishments. Retail is picking up in our area, so it's pretty good in Tillsonburg."
If you're also thinking about going back to school, colleges like Fanshawe, Conestoga and Westervelt will be on hand to speak to. "It's about either getting that job, or getting a direction for employment. That's why the educational institutions are coming. People who are looking to go back to school have an opportunity to talk to the representatives that are there."
Community Services will also be on hand to distribute information on their programs.
