Longtime Oxford resident looking to bring fresh face to SWOX Ward 6
SOUTHWEST OXFORD - Kelly Farrell wants to bring a fresh face and a positive outlook to South West Oxford Ward 6.
The longtime Oxford County resident is looking for full transparency and would provide people with the opportunity to voice their opinions, concerns and ideas to council.
"I believe that the community working together can identify areas for improvement within the township and if we all work together it will be much easier to find attainable solutions. It would be my honour to bring these issues forward to township council and present them on behalf of community members."
Farrell currently sits on the Oxford County Injury Prevention Team and the Safe Communities Board in both Woodstock and St. Thomas/Elgin County, and also regularly participates in health and safety training for both kids and seniors in this community.
Farrell says she has a lot of positive energy to give back to the community.
"My entire family lives in this township and my strong education in health and safety and legislation, it's more geared to the urban part of our community and this is why I have chose to run in Ward 6. I feel I have my strongest suits in education and training to give back in that area."
"Government transparency is very important to me. I am an approachable, positive member of the community who I believe could easily transfer the information back on behalf of my community members and I think it would be such a great thing to be able to give back to this community that I believe in so much."
Farrell has experience working for a national, non-profit organization and has managed several large budgets which she believes will help make her successful in the position.
Farrell will be going up again incumbent Gerry Mitchell .
