Tickets are almost sold out for the popular fundraiser in support of WDDS.
WOODSTOCK - This is your last chance to purchase tickets for the 8th annual Runway of Stars.
It's one of the largest fundraisers for Woodstock and District Developmental Services (WDDS) and it will be taking over the Oxford Auditorium on Thursday, May 7th.
Communications Coordinator and Fund Developer Krystan Maclean says it's not your typical fashion show.
"A bunch of people who are supported by WDDS walk down the runway in local fashion from local retailers. So we go there, we shop, we get what's new and good, we showcase it on the runway, and the models get to keep the clothes afterward thanks to our generous sponsors. We pair them up with community models that have been nominated by other people in the community."
She tells us more about some of the community models that will be hitting the runway.
"These are first responders, educators, local politicians, health care workers, and people who are community who are positively contributing to the fabric. That could be volunteers or business owners who go above and beyond because we want to celebrate them as well!"
There will be 30 pairings this year and they will be wearing fashion from local retailers including Roberts and Co, Giant Tiger, Zabians, Hometown Style, On Trend, and Goodwill.
The members of the audience will be seated in tables of 10 around the stage in a U shape, and appetizer-style foods will be served. Zach Fullerson and John Nathaniel will provide live music, and Heart FM's very own Dan Henry and Marcie Culbert will be the emcees for the evening.
Tickets cost $65 each and they can be purchased online here, but there's only a few remaining.
