Little Girls Raising Big Money

Lilly Foord-Davis and Grace Boscariol

Two local girls have managed to raise over $2,000 to help fix the vandalized tombstones in Hillview Cemetery, and they're not done yet.

WOODSTOCK - When vandals created thousands of dollars in damage at Hillview Cemetery, two nine year old girls felt compelled to help.

Lilly Foord-Davis and Grace Boscariol held a bake sale over the weekend with all proceeds benefiting the repair efforts.

Lilly's Dad, Simon Morrison says the turnout surpassed their expectations; even with all the rain.

"We had about 400 to 500 treats for sale at $1 each and the girls sold all of those treats within an hour and 45 minutes. The girls ended up raising so far $2,272.50."

Morrison says it was a proud Dad moment for him.

"The girls were approached by so many different people saying what a great effort this was and how thoughtful it was. Both divisions of the fire department came with their fire trucks and a team of EMS workers came out in their uniforms and they supported."

If you were unable to make it out but still want to support the cause, you can e-mail transfer a donation to Grace's father Steve at steveb_1986@hotmail.com. They will stop collecting donations on Tuesday July 3rd.
