A local golfer from Norwich has captured a silver medal at the 2019 SONA Special Olympics Golf Championship in Nashville Tennessee.
NORWICH - A local golfer from Norwich has captured a silver medal at the 2019 SONA Special Olympics Golf Championship in Nashville Tennessee.
Rick Buck Junior shot a 125 over 3 rounds, his lowest score was a 41 over 9 holes. He competed in the Level 4, stroke play 9 hole tournament.
This is his second silver medal this year at a major international event. He also won silver at the Dubai World Special Olympics Golf Tournament.
Buck Jr, who is originally from Norwich and now resides in Tillsonburg, has Touch of Cerebral Palsy, along with a learning disability and he's been playing golf in the Special Olympics for the last six years.
He has won Golds and Silver at the Provincial, National and North American Games. His Father, Rick Sr., is his caddie.
