Local Manager Named McDonalds Outstanding Manager of the Year

"Our focus is our guests ...None of that has changed really, there's just different ways to go about it now."

WOODSTOCK - McDonalds Canada has presented a local General Manager with the 2017 Outstanding Manager of the Year Award.

Jennie Gerard earned the honour after working at Woodstock's Norwich Ave location since 1988.

She has played a big role in training others throughout the years.

"My team works hard at developing each other and developing managers and employees for other restaurants as well. I've helped in other restaurants in our group develop their managers and different processes and procedures, so seeing them succeed means I've succeeded."

Gerard has witnessed some pretty big changes to the restaurant throughout her 29 years, but her priorities have remained the same.

"There have been a lot of changes; there's the dining room, there's kiosks, and there's all those different things but I think the basics are still there. Our focus is our guests and my focus is my internal guests like my crew and my employees and then we focus on our external guests so our actual customers that come into the restaurant. None of that has changed really, there's just different ways to go about it now."

In a press release Franchisee Gord MacLeod says Gerard is a strong, results-based leader who always puts the needs of guests first.
