The best soup in Woodstock hangs out at Southside Park according to the Lucky 7 Soup Stock today.
WOODSTOCK - The Local Roots in the Park can now boast to having the best soup in Woodstock.
They won the Lucky 7 Soup Stock today to help support Domestic Abuse Service Oxford. The wining soup was created by chef Shelley Davis and had Sweet Potato, carrot, red lentil and apple.
DASO Executive Director Rhonda Hendall says they are hoping to raise $5,000 this year.
"This year the money will probably going to go into the Shelter but we leave it kind of broad, because we might need to use the funds for something else. I wanted to give a huge thank you to Scotiabank because Scotiabank has been a huge supporter of this event since day 1 and they match all of the ticket sales, so for every $15 ticket sold they are also giving us that amount of money which helps to make this event worthwhile for us."
Hendall also wanted to thank all of the amazing volunteers who made this event possible.
2nd place went to Craig Ryder with Oxford Gardens and 3rd place went to Brenda Hendry of Miss Ingersoll for her Cream of Potato Bacon and Cheddar Soup.
