Green Private Wealth Counsel has donating money to 3 charitable organizations
WOODSTOCK - It's the season of giving as another local business has donated to three local charities.
Green Private Wealth Counsel divided a $2 500 donation between three groups: Operation Sharing, The Salvation Army, and the United Way Oxford.
"Part of our program here at Green Private Wealth Counsel is to provide donations to charity or to charitable causes through our Share The Green Program," Portfolio Manager David Harris says. "We donate around $10 000 a year. Today we made a donation to three local charities that are significant around the holiday time."
Harris says they make this donation as a firm, but they let have their clients have their say and help make the decisions. "As a team we decided on the three charities that we would like to support and then we sent an email out to our clients to get their input on it and what would be their charity of choice. And so we've allocated funds according to their wishes - a little but more to the favourite charity of our clients and a little bit less to the next two." Harris says the response from clients was amazing.
Giving back to the community is an important part of the Green Private Wealth Counsel's ideology. "Well we have been supported by people in this community for many years and we also see that there is a need to help those in the community that aren't as fortunate as maybe some of our clients or we are. There are great groups out there that do an excellent job of supporting those people so we wanted to help them out."
