London and Kitchener are joining forces, hoping to bring the World Juniors to Southwestern Ontario.
Hockey Canada is taking bids for the 2023 World Juniors.
London and Kitchener are joining forces, hoping to bring the tournament to Southwestern Ontario. There plan would be to host the games at Budweiser Gardens and the Aud according to an article in the London Free Press from Bruce Garrioch.
They will face some tough competition though as the Ottawa Senators have also put a bid in to bring the tournament to the nations capital.
Other places hoping to host include a partnership of Vancouver and Victoria, East Coast cities Halifax and Moncton and Regina and Saskatoon are also expected to make a bid.
A decision is expected in the next couple of weeks. If the tournament was held in Kitchener and London, it would be great news for hockey fans in Oxford County, who would have an easy drive to either location to take in the games.
