The stolen vehicle was spotted in Oxford and Brant, before it was recovered in Norfolk.
OXFORD/BRANT/NORFOLK - It took multiple OPP detachments, but a stolen vehicle has been recovered.
The Oxford OPP was dispatched on October 15th at 12:00 a.m. to Broadway Road in Tillsonburg after a report of a stolen vehicle. A vehicle matching the description was reported driving erratically, and it was located in Brant County, where officers tried to stop it, but it took off. The vehicle was finally located on McDowell Road in Simcoe, where the Norfolk OPP was able to stop it and arrest the driver.
As a result, a 50-year-old London man is facing charges of operation while impaired by drugs, operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code, dangerous operation, failure or refusal to comply with a demand, flight from a peace officer, theft of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and possession of methamphetamine.
Police seized approximately three grams of methamphetamine and issued a 90-day license suspension. He has been remanded into custody.
