Multiple fatalities have been reported after a vehicle struck multiple pedestrians at the intersection of Hyde Park Road and South Carriage Road in London last night.
LONDON - Multiple people have died after they were hit by a vehicle in northwest London.
Police say the pedestrians were struck at the intersection of Hyde Park and South Carriage Roads. One of them died at the scene and others died in hospital.
The call came in at around 8:40 p.m. yesterday and police have arrested the man who was driving the vehicle.
Officers have closed the stretch of Hyde Park Road between Sarnia and Gainsborough Roads and the stretch of South Carriage Road between Prince of Wales Gate and Finley Crescent as the investigation continues.
No further details have been released at this time and anyone with information should call the London Police Service at 519-661-5670.
UPDATE: London Police say one woman died at the scene last night. Two adults and two children were also taken to hospital, but the two adults and one teenaged child succumbed to their injuries afterwards.
The other child remains in hospital in serious but non-life threatening condition.
Officers arrested a 20-year-old man in the Oxford Street West and Cherryhill Boulevard area shortly afterwards and he remains in custody at this time.
The area remains closed at this time as the investigation continues
