NORFOLK COUNTY - Deer hunting season officially started on Monday and some hunters in Oxford County are already starting to participate.
Norfolk OPP are investigating an incident at Highway 60 near Langton this morning, after a 29 year-old man was shot during a hunting accident.
Constable Ed Sanchuk says the man has suffered serious injuries.
"They have subsequently transported a 29 year-old male to a local area hospital with serious injuries. I can tell you that the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry are on scene and we are going to be assisting with the investigation."
Sanchuk also wants to remind hunters to be safe during the hunting season.
"I just want to put out a reminder to all hunters out there right now, please make sure you're aware of your surroundings at all times."
Norfolk OPP will provide more information once it becomes available.
