UPDATE: The deceased has been identified as 20-year-old Alexander Schweitzer from Norfolk County. A post-mortem exam was conducted yesterday at a hospital in Hamilton. Police are not treating the death as suspicious and they are not suspecting foul play.
LAKE ERIE - One man has died in Norfolk County after his body was found in Lake Erie.
The man's friends reported him missing yesterday morning after they were unable to find him after they spent the night before at a cottage on Millionaires Island.
Norfolk OPP were called to the investigation yesterday at approximately 8:47 am, where they were assisted by other services like the Marine Unit, Aviation Services and the Under Water Search and Recovery Unit.
The man's body was found last night and he was pronounced dead after being brought back to shore.
A post-mortem exam is being done in Hamilton to determine the cause of death.
OPP say the name of the deceased is not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin.
The investigation is ongoing and police say as more information becomes available, an update will be provided
