Massive Amounts of Firearms, Explosives and Drugs Seized in SW Ontario

Police seized 31 guns, 81 grenades, 2 grenade launchers and massive amounts of drugs after investigating four criminal organizations in the Southwestern Ontario Region.

SOUTHWESTERN ONTARIO - 10 people have been arrested after police seized over 100 hundred weapons, including grenades and grenade launchers and several pounds of drugs including cannabis, cocaine and MDMA. 

The arrests happened as part of Project Weaver which was an 8 month investigation into firearms and drug trafficking in Southwestern Ontario. 

The four criminal networks identified by police as part of this investigation include the following. 

- Members of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club in the London area responsible for trafficking cocaine in large quantities.
- A criminal network trafficking firearms and cannabis in the London area.
- A criminal network responsible for trafficking firearms and cocaine in the Brantford area.
- A criminal network engaged in the trafficking of offensive weapons, explosive devices and cocaine in the Brantford area, including grenades and a grenade launcher.

Search warrants were executed last week at homes in London, Brantford, Ancaster, Paris, St. Thomas, Oakland and Barrie. 

Police say they seized the following drugs and weapons during those search warrants: 

- 31 firearms
- 81 grenades
- Two (2) grenade launchers
- 22 other prohibited devices
- Three (3) explosive projectiles
- 10.85 kilograms of cocaine
- 216 pounds of illegal cannabis
- Five (5) pounds of hash
- More than $10,000 in other illegal cannabis products
- 36 pounds of psilocybin
- 715 grams of MDMA
- One (1) Outlaws MC vest
- $127,757 in Canadian currency
- $2,106 in US currency
- Eight (8) vehicles

A total of 10 people have been arrested in the bust facing at total of 268 charges. They are from St. Thomas, Ancaster, Paris, London, Brantford and Strathroy: 

- 44 year old Ryan Daigenault of London is facing 12 charges.
- 33 Daniel Bell of St. Thomas is facing 10 charges. 
- 42 year old Daniel Boris of Strathroy is facing 1 charge. 
- 40 year old Stacey Scaman of of London is facing 3 charges. 
- 47 year old Michael Caron of London is facing 32 charges. 
- 36 year old Alicia Haynes Lewis of Paris is facing 8 charges. 
- 31 year old Jayme Hill of Brantford is facing 23 charges. 
- 32 year old Sean Sutherland of Ancaster is facing 126 charges. 
- 31 year old Brandon Spaulding of Brantford is facing 31 charges. 
- 35 year old Cindy Klassen of St. Thomas is facing 3 charges. 

This investigation was almost a year in the making and investigators say the four criminal networks responsible for these illegal activities have jeopardized the safety of numerous Ontario communities. Evidence has been gathered over the past several months in order for police to lay significant and serious charges against those responsible according to police.
