TILLSONBURG - A former councillor of Tillsonburg is running again this election.
Maxwell Adam is a teacher, father of three, and lifelong resident of Oxford county. He was a councillor of Tillsonburg from 2014 to 2018 and found the job enjoyable and fulfilling.
This election he is running on a platform of lowering taxes and building affordable housing while preserving farmland.
"We need options and whether that be intensification with apartments or condo options, I'm talking more tall buildings because it's a little more cost efficient at this point for everybody, the town included, to build up as opposed to outward."
Adam also says that he plans on improving communication between the town and its citizens.
"It just seems like word is not getting out to the community about town things, or even budget input."
As a civics teacher he is passionate about getting people interested in municipal politics, and hopes for a large voter turnout no matter the outcome.
The election will take place on October 24th.
