Mayor Trevor Birtch has been participating in Movember for close to ten years and he encourages others to get involved for their own health and to raise awareness.
WOODSTOCK - Things are getting a little hairy in Woodstock with Movember in full swing.
The Mayor of Woodstock Trevor Birtch is among those getting involved and growing out his whiskers.
He says it is important to create awareness for men's health.
"Often times men do not like to talk about their health issues, so this opens the door to some really good conversations. Of course, it's also designed as a fundraiser but more importantly it's about those conversations about men's mental health, as well as physical health."
Birtch has been participating in Movember for nine years and he encourages others in the community to get involved.
"Consider joining the Movember effort and having these same conversations yourself, as well as take a look at the website and you can donate through my page."
