It's going to be a very tough commute for many people - the OPP have closed a portion of the 401 after a collision.

It's going to be another tough day for commuters in Oxford County.

The Oxford OPP are responding to a crash along the 401 and have closed the highway in both directions between Foldens Line and Mill Street.

As traffic diverts through the Friendly City we are seeing multiple slow downs in Woodstock.

The OPP have not yet commented on the extent of the damage or possible injuries, but have called the collision 'serious'

There is no word from the OPP about an expected reopening time yet.

Update (08:13): The OPP are now reporting the crash involves a fatality.

Update (09:31): According to initial reports from the OPP the mutli-vehicle crash happened near the ONRoute. They believe the first crash happened in the westbound lanes, triggering another collision in the eastbound lanes. In the chaos, a pedestrian was struck and killed. Three people have been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Update (01:30): The highway has re-opened in both directions and traffic is running smoothly once again.
