It's been 18 long months since we've had a battle of Highway 59. That all changes tonight in Norwich.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Navy Vets kick off their season on the road tonight in Norwich.
It is their first PJHL game in 18 months. Head Coach Darren Young says they expect a few fans to make the trip down Highway 59 for the game.
"It is a rivalry, it has been a bitter rivalry for a long time here. Obviously opening night, you are jacked up to begin with, these guys haven't played in front of a big crowd in a long time, some have never done it, going down to Norwich is never an easy place to play, they usually have a pretty good team, we are expecting a few of our fans to make the trip and it should be a great game."
Young says opening night on Saturday in Southwood is going to be special as well.
"We are all really pumped, especially the guys, it has been a long time coming. We got a little taste of it during the preseason but it's not the same. I think we are all excited to get going and get the season started."
The Navy Vets have their home opener this Saturday night against Tavistock.
Puck drops at 7:45 pm. You can buy tickets online here.
