The start of 2024 will bring a new agreement for Ingersoll and Oxford County. It will make sure construction projects in the Town are done in collaboration with the County.
INGERSOLL - A new agreement has been set between Ingersoll and Oxford County.
The new partnership agreement is for engineering services that will ensure coordinated, cost-effective and reliable construction projects in Ingersoll.
Mayor of Ingersoll, Brian Petrie speaks to what the agreement means.
"There are parts of the roads that are part of the County and parts that are part of Ingersoll. So, they will be able to be collaberated a lot easier and in a more cost-efficient manner, so that work is only done once, so that is a very postive step forward."
Petrie says why the agreement is going to work well.
"It was really designed to work with making sure that, because there is only one taxpayer, that they are only paying for what the actual costs are, and no way is one benefitting over the other."
The new agreement will take effect starting January 1, 2024.
