New Health Hub on The Horizon in Brant

Brant County council has given their stamp of approval on the Brant Community Health Hub being built in the County.

BRANT COUNTY - The Brant Community Health Hub has been approved to start building in the County.

Brant County council made the decision last Tuesday and awarded the tender to Norlon Builders London, who will collaborate with Edge Architects to build a green state-of-the-art health facility for the community.

Mayor David Bailey says they’re looking forward to seeing the facility built.

“In 2018, Council discussed and made a number of decisions related to the development of a health care facility in the County. A lot of progress and good decisions have been made and we are excited to see the first shovel in the ground.”

A ground-breaking ceremony is expected in the coming weeks.

The Hub is located on 25 Curtis Avenue in Paris and it will be approximately 41,365 square feet, offer a range of community health care and services including family physicians, health care practitioners and more.

Primacare Community Family Health Team, Brantford Radiology and Lifelabs are among the tenant stakeholders. Others include Sound Choice Hearing Health Services, Northville Pharmacy and the Alzheimer’s Society.

Bailey says the Hub will benefit several residents, from seniors to newborns.

“Improving access to health care and community services in the County of Brant has been identified as a vitally important and growing need. The Brant Community Health Hub will provide our community with a stable framework for a healthy community and reduce the burden on an already overextended hospital system. Residents from newborns to seniors will be able to benefit from integrated programs, focused on their needs, close to home.”

The building will be made up of sustainable design features that include highly insulated building envelope, solar panels, electric vehicle charging stations and more. It'll cost approximately $13 million dollars and a $1 million fundraising campaign will help lower the costs.

Major donors who wish to contribute to this major community asset will have a number of naming opportunities available. Construction on the project is expected to begin in the near future and will be completed by next summer.
