New Program Teaches Bike Riding

It is never too late to learn how to ride a bike, and thanks to this program, you can.

WOODSTOCK - Young or old...if you don't know how to ride a bike, don't worry there is a new program that can help.

The City of Woodstock is offering Cycling level 1 for only $20.

Supervisor of Recreation Programs, Grants and Sponsorship with the City of Woodstock, Emma Vondervoort says they cover a lot in the program.

"You bring your bike and helmet and some snacks and they do a fitting of your bike and helmet, teach you about the ABC's of bike readiness, talking about balancing and signalling and just getting you on your feet so you can learn how to ride a bike."

Vondervoort says they opened up the age for the program because there are some adults that have not mastered how to ride as well.

"It is for ages 6 and up and it's for anyone who has never been on a bike before, the nice thing about this program is that it is not just for kids, anyone is welcome to come.

The learn to ride program is being offered on Sunday May 6th from 9:30 a.m. - 12 noon at the Civic Centre.
