How much more will your property be assessed at? MPAC isn't saying. An official with the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation was at Woodstock City Council last night. Brenda Slater wasn't divulging any information about the local impact of upcoming property reassessments. "I don't have anything I can provide you at this time. There may be some preliminary numbers that we're able to provide staff here in the officer (at City Hall), just to give them a sneak peek." She says those values would be based on recent sales. "Our new valuation date will be based on January 1, 2012. So what we'll be looking at is sales in the neighbourhood that have sold and we'll be working with those sales values to determine the assessments of the properties." Local property assessments will be hitting the mail the week of November 9th for residential, November 16th for commercial. MPAC is also launching a new website called "About my property 2.0". Once you get your assessment in the mail, you can go online and compare your property value to others in your neighbourhood. The new webtool is available here.
