For the second day in a row, Southwestern Public Health is reporting no new cases of COVID-19. We currently have 21 active cases after 4 more recoveries, however two people from the region remain in the ICU with the virus.
OXFORD/ST.THOMAS/ELGIN - For the second day in a row, Southwestern Public Health is reporting no new cases of COVID-19.
We currently have 25 active cases overall after the health unit confirmed another 4 recoveries. We currently have 3 active cases in Oxford County, all of them are in Woodstock.

Bayham - 5
St. Thomas - 1

Southwestern Public Health unveiled a new data base this week with more information on all of the cases in our region. It includes they symptoms people who tested positive were displaying, how they contracted the virus, the percentage of men vs women and the age groups who got COVID-19. The number one symptom that has led to a positive test in the region is a cough, followed by a fever. Other symptoms that have resulted in positive tests include fatigue, headache, sore throat, shortness of breath and nasal congestion just to name a few. 17% of people who have tested positive in our region were asymptomatic. Right now we have 2 COVID-19 patients in the hospital with the virus and both are in the ICU.
