Norfolk OPP officers and EMS are receiving praise from the Norfolk OPP after saving a man's life.
NORFOLK COUNTY - The Norfolk OPP is crediting its officers and the Norfolk County Paramedics with saving life one man's life after administering naloxone.
Police received a call to a home in Middleton on March 20th at approximately 11:49pm for a 28-year-old man that was in medical distress.
Officers arrived on scene with paramedics and saw the man had appeared to have had an opioid overdose. An officer and paramedic immediately applied three doses of naloxone.
Inspector and Detachment Commander Joseph Varga says they were able to save the man's life.
"Officers and paramedics attending this address were able to quickly identify an opioid overdose and saved this man's life by administering naloxone. When someone is overdosing, minutes can make the difference between life and death."
The man regained consciousness and began to respond. He was taken to the ambulance outside where he was then transported local hospital and treated by physicians.
