Norfolk Police Briefs - Monday October 17

Norfolk Police Briefs include multiple cases of mischief, theft and a public intoxication.

DELHI - Items were stolen from two school buses that were broken in to in Delhi.

The Norfolk County OPP investigated a mischief and theft on Argyle Avenue yesterday around 3 p.m. and were able to determine that once inside the school buses, unknowns removed fire extinguishers, and damaged the radio system along with ignition to the bus.

Police are reviewing security surveillance footage in an attempt to identify the individuals responsible.

WINDHAM - Two brand new lawnmowers worth around $20,000 total were stolen in Windham.  

Yesterday around 4 p.m., the Norfolk OPP were called to a Talbot Road address, and they determined two lawnmowers were taken from the property during the early morning hours.

The lawnmowers were both 2022 models and black and yellow. One was a Hustler Dash XD34, and the other a Hustler Raptor XDX5.

WATERFORD - A 38-year-old man from Alymer has been charged with multiple offenses

On Saturday, October 15, around 10 p.m., the Norfolk OPP investigated an incident on East Church Street.

It was determined that an individual became involved in verbal altercation with several other individuals when police were contacted.

After police arrived and took the man into custody, he engaged in an act of mischief at the Norfolk OPP Detachment.

As a result, the man accused was charged with mischief under $5,000 as well as public intoxication.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe at a later date.

Members of the Norfolk OPP are continuing to investigate and is seeking the public's assistance with these investigations. If anyone has any information, they are being asked to contact police at 1-888-310-1122.
