Norwich Township Council will help Emily Stowe Public School foot the bill for an upcoming fundraiser.
NORWICH - Norwich Township Council has decided to waive a portion of a rental fee to benefit a fundraiser for Emily Stowe Public School.
The Norwich based elementary school will be hosting their annual Play Date with Emily Stowe Fundraiser at the Community Centre on March 4th.
It would have cost the school $706 to rent the auditorium for the evening, but council will be taking $500 off their bill. CAO Kyle Kruger tells Heart FM council does have money set aside in their budget to help out local fundraisers.
"As groups come forward if they are charitable or local charitable groups, we have a certain amount of money set aside where we can provide fee waivers for those groups for fundraising events."
Kruger adds this is not the only time council has waived a rental fee for this school fundraiser.
"They have annually requested assistance from the township in waiving the fees for our Community Centre for their particular event."
The 5th annual Play Date with Emily Stowe Fundraiser will raise money for an outdoor classroom, school trips, and outdoor activities for younger students. Money will also go towards their healthy snack program and their technology department.
You can visit the Play Date with Emily Stowe Facebook page for more information.
