OCL Releases Family Literacy Day Program Lineup

Family Literacy Day is coming up on Thursday January 27th and the theme this year is Learning in the Great Outdoors.

OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County Library has a number of free virtual programs available this year to celebrate Family Literacy Day on Thursday January 27th.

Literacy and Innovation Specialist at the Ingersoll Branch Shannon Van Herzele says they have programs for all ages and for every member of the family.

"Story time, outdoor winter art, some trivia and a collaboration with our community partners at Oxford Early ON and the Woodstock Public Library for a video of a family literacy activity that you can do outside in the winter."

The theme this year is Learning in the Great Outdoors. Van Herzele says the programs will be available on their Facebook and YouTube pages.

"The videos will be posted on the Oxford County Library and Facebook page as well as the YouTube channel. So once they are posted, they will always live there and you can go back and watch the playlist and we even have the playlist available from the Family Literacy Day programs from last year, that you can go back and watch."

OCL is also doing the Family Literacy Day Bingo. You can pick up a Family Literacy Day Bingo card from staff at curbside from any of the Oxford County Library branches. Return your completed lines or full card to your local branch to earn ballots for the chance to win a prize.

The videos will be released throughout the day on January 27th:
